Contemporary Forms is a fusion of floor work, constant motion and release techniques and improv. Contact with the floor and safe drops to the floor train dancers to stay poised and in form while making transitions and supporting their own body weight in various positions. This class is moderate to at times – rigorous based on an individual’s desire to put all or some of their energy into a movement or segment. Dancers are encouraged not to eat at least an hour before class as we work up the heart rate high and continuously move for the majority of the class. This is dynamic, fun, releasing, expressive and a real way to shut off the mind and listen to music and just DANCE!
